Left: Grotfeldt’s Dollar Green as cover illustration on annual Banking Report. Note: The work was mistakenly listed Collection: Triodos Bank.
It should have been: Collection FIUWAC, at Triodos Bank.
Right: Summer 1999, Grotfeldt studio Whitestreet NY. Several new artworks were leaning against the walls and clear shift in style was visible with gravitation eliminated and plants floating in space, in correspondence with the collective ownership principle of FIUWAC. In one canvas, entitled Above and Below (now entitled: Dollar Green) the association with the American dollar was significant. The canvas was acquired by FIU as a social gift to FIUWAC, especially to decorate the office of Triodos President Peter Blom at the new headquarter in Zeist. The canvas was paid for with the first $ 10.000 interest rate on the F.I.U. Loan to Triodos Bank and several dollar bills stabled onto the studio wall as a frame, causing great laughter. Afterwards, Grotfeldt became terrified that someone could see and steel them and so the dollars had to be covered with a sheet every time someone knocked on the studio door.
